Frequently Asked Questions
1. How are maps produced and maintained? Maps used by QSTview are normally produced from your existing GIS maps. These are usually in ArcGIS, MapInfo or AutoCAD format. The format is converted to DXF format and imported into AutoCAD by our staff for conversion to QSTview. The accuracy of the QSTview map is the same as the maps you provide. Updates of maps are done by comparing previous data with the new data and importing the differences into AutoCAD and the new map converted to QSTview map file.

2. What is the cost of the mapping and information services and the QSTview software?
The cost is dependent upon (1) the amount of effort needed to produce the maps and address data, (2) any special requirements.  If maps and data bases are provided to QuadraStar Technologies, LLC, a fee for services and software will be provided at no obligation.  Please contact us for specific details on the data to be provided.

3. What is the interface between QSTview software and a computer-aided dispatch system in an E911 center for displaying the location of an incoming call?
Usually the computer-aided dispatch software that captures the ANIALI data stores the incoming information in a text file.  It is this file that is read by QSTview to obtain the address information. If the incoming call is from a cellular phone which transmits latitude and longitude, QSTview will display and label the Lat/Long location automatically.

4. What type of information can be attached to an address?
QSTview allows 5 lines of information to be attached that displays automatically when the address is displayed.  In addition, a *.htm, *.hta, or *.jgp file can be attached and displayed upon command.  Use of a *.htm or *.hta file permits inclusion of *.gif files which can be photographs, floor plans, or diagrams.
